A resolution for an ACT OF STATE to provide for the common defense of the state by organizing the armed forces.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CROWN-IN-COUNCIL:
Sec. 2.001. This act may be cited as the "National Security Act".
Sec. 2.002. The armed forces shall conduct any foreign or domestic military, intelligence, security, and police operations for the purposes of maintaining the following:
(a) The territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state.
(b) The security of The Sovereign and the royal household.
(c) The security of the Council of State.
(d) The general welfare of the public.
Sec. 2.003. (1) The State Guard shall continue to function as the primary military and police unit of the armed forces.
(2) The Sovereign shall serve as the ceremonial commander of the State Guard as the colonel.
(3) The officer ranks of the State Guard shall be colonel, major, and captain, in descending order of precedence.
(4) The enlisted ranks of the State Guard shall be lieutenant, sergeant, corporal, and private, in descending order of precedence.
Sec. 2.004. (1) The General Intelligence Directorate shall continue to function as the primary intelligence and security unit of the armed forces.
(2) The Sovereign, on the advice of the Council of State, shall serve as the head of the directorate. The Sovereign may, with the consent of a majority of the Council of State, appoint a person to serve on his behalf as the Director of General Intelligence.
(3) The directorate shall support the activities of the State Guard to subvert threats and crimes against the state.
